9 - Star Qi Acupuncture Examples

Patients whose date of birth translates into 8-8-5 in 9 Star Qi

1st. Patient : male 8-8-5 (ST - ST - SP/ ST )

Main Complaints:

Acute, severe Lower back pain and pain in upper part of legs for past 2 weeks. Can hardly walk or stand up fully straight with it. Had it 8 months previous, also 5 yrs back worse with exercise. ( Has pinched/ trapped a nerve in lower back)
Others symptoms:Feet and hands always hot sweaty, varicose vein removed 4 years back. A very healthy individual in terms of physical exercise and eating habits. No other previous discernible symptoms by which to make an assessment.

Treatment: This is a good example of back pain coming from the ST meridian. I went for the ST instead of the SP because he Reports always having good healthy appetite. Where as SP people are more likely to be finicky when under stress. Also, his feelings of stress arose, ( in my opinion), because he is always bending backwards (no pun intended) to please others. Where as a SP person is more likely to get into this state through worry.( See example 6-5-6)

1st. Tx. Sed. (l) BL-40 (54), (l) BL-52 (47) (r) SP-6, Ton. BL-45, ST-30, ST-42 Reports much more relaxed in self back a bit easier.

2nd Tx. Reports: been good, freer in back. Ton. ST-25, ST-36(Earth Element within), ST-41. Reports continue to improve, freer.

3rd Tx. Reports: Good, just about back to normal, feel ready to go back to work, emotionally still an underlying nervousness.

Ton. ST-12, ST-19, ST-42 . Reports great, feel loose and relaxed.

The 3 treatments were spaced over a period of 5 days at the end of which he felt ready / went back to work.
